Ammo report
This is local but maybe has some applicability as a trend indicator.
Walmart in the Florida panhandle today had: 10 or more boxes of 45 ACP, 40 S&W, 223 (2 kinds), 7.62X39, 9 MM (2 kinds), and at least a couple of boxes of 7-8 different hunting ammo. I bought 100 rounds each of Winchester hardball 40 and 45 target stuff but they had a bunch more of each. Their last ammo delivery was yesterday but they still had this stuff this afternoon. 500 round boxes of 22 rimfire are still nowhere to be seen. Maybe the shortage is easing, a little, I hope. |
Re: Ammo report
I agree, I am now able to actually get a box of ammo at walmart. However, it still takes less than a day for it to get cleaned out. Walmart has posted a strict limit of 6 boxes of ammo per customer!
At least I can get some! The Great Ag |
Re: Ammo report
hm.... i guess that indicates slowly slacking demand, rather than increased manufacturing, which makes sense....
i would expect the non-shooter guys that speculated on pallates of ammo to unload soon, no? then availability should shoot up and good deals could be had.... |
Re: Ammo report
Thanks for the tip Tom, I"ll have to check out the WallyWorld across the bay from you.

The one in Ft. Walton has had Blazer Brass in .40 and 9mm the last few times I've been in there. You might want to check them out if you're out that way. |
Re: Ammo report
Wallyworld on Turtlecreek Run (Margate or Coconut Creek I think) has had .223 & 7.62R Winchester & UMC for several days now. This afternoon they also had .40 WWB 50 & 100 165gr and Blazer Brass 180gr.

Re: Ammo report
With unemployment rising and deflation still setting in (debatable I know) I expect to get some great deals on some firearms I have been "wanting" and additional ammo.
I wouldn't wait to get what is "needed" but I sure would hold some extra cash for the extra cushion ammo/firearms. |

I noticed in our local private sale paper thet there are a lot more military style firearms for sell. Prices still way too high, seen a bushmaster SVL for 2250.00 no accessories.:4_1_72: I have a feeling come Oct, November when heating bills start coming due those prices will drop. Unless we all find ourselves behind enemy lines at that time............ |
Re: Ammo report
I put in a couple large orders at recobs. They are about the only ones online that still have IMR powder. They still have Winchester 209 primers at a reasonable price also.. Got a couple cases of shot primers and a bunch of 8# jugs of powder on the way! I'm not going to drive all over Phoenix looking for components. I'd much rather pay the hazmat fee and shipping and have it delivered to my door if I can.
